Our community cafe and village store are now open

We are proud to have opened a new community cafe and village store here at the Foresters Arms, helping bring everyday essentials and a welcoming social space back to the heart of Carlton-in-Coverdale.

The village store, Auntie Betty's, has been created in a former storeroom at the front of the pub with its own street access. It offers a wide range of useful items, from fresh bread and milk to ready meals and toiletries, making it easier for local residents and nearby communities to pick up essentials without a longer journey.

Alongside the store, our community cafe is giving locals, walkers, cyclists and visitors another warm place to stop, meet and spend time together. Both additions reflect what matters most to us as a community-owned pub: being useful, welcoming and closely connected to the people around us.

We are also pleased to support local suppliers wherever possible, helping these new services strengthen local links as well as daily convenience.
